How are the courses delivered?  
We offer three types of delivery so that you can select a delivery method that fits your needs and budget.

Instructor-led Create meaningful classroom interaction by using one of our trainer-led programs. Purchase a ready-to-use trainer’s manual, attend a Train-The-Trainer workshop for additional support, or let one of our impact-certified trainers deliver the training at your location.

Self-Paced Online The self-paced delivery allows the student to work at their own pace and on their own schedule. The student’s progress can be tracked via the Progress Management Center and students go through a self-assessment test at the conclusion of each module. The training is easy to follow and full of examples, exercises, and job aids.

Blend of Classroom and Online Take advantage of the efficiency of online learning together with the effectiveness of the classroom experience in this flexible and powerful program. The blended delivery includes a complete suite of training and reinforcement tools to ensure not only learning, but real behavior change. Impact uses an advanced learning process to integrate online knowledge transfer, instructor-led reinforcement, and post-training coaching to improve and sustain performance.

Can we do the training ourselves?  
Yes. If you are an experienced trainer you can deliver the training using our comprehensive and easy-to-use materials. If you are not comfortable with the subject matter, we recommend you attend our Train-The-Trainer program or call on one of our Impact Certified Trainers to come to your facility and deliver the training for you. Do I have to go to Train-The-Trainer to be certified to deliver the program?  

Yes and No. If you wish to be an Impact Certified Trainer, we require that you attend Train-The-Trainer, but we do not require that you be Impact certified in order to deliver the program.

If you are an experienced trainer, you will be able to deliver an effective program using our comprehensive and easy-to-use materials. However, even experienced trainers gain a great deal of knowledge and experience by attending Train-The-Trainer. At Train-The-Trainer you'll examine the program with the help of experts and explore ways of adapting the program to their company's specific needs. Train-The-Trainer is a safe environment where you can hone your skills.

What if I only have five people that need to be trained?  
Our programs work best with groups from 5 to 20 people per class. Because the programs can be administered via self-pacing or trainer-led, they can be ideal for bringing a few new hires up to speed quickly. Representatives can work through the workbooks on their own, then work with a mentor or coach to review the learning and put the skills into practice on the job. What results can I expect?  

The results you get depend on the operating environment in your organization. There are, however, several elements that will help you reach your desired result:

  • Do a pre-assessment to determine the specific skills that need emphasis. Give extra focus to practicing and developing those skills during training.
  • Make the program visible and meaningful by getting management support from the beginning.
  • Provide the supervisors and managers with the necessary skills to support the representatives when they have completed their formal training. We recommend our coaching program, Making It Happen™. The Making It Happen™ program has been designed specifically for customer contact environments and our contact-center products.
  • After the formal training, be patient, positive, and supportive. Focus on one or two skills each week until they become a communication habit for each representative.
  • Get involved and stay involved. Provide coaching, coaching, and more coaching.

Do you have an online version of your program?  
Most of our programs are available in classroom, online, and blended learning format. Studies have shown that online communications training is most effective when combined with interactive classroom exercises where small groups can practice skills, provide meaningful context, and relay personal experiences related to the skills. Consequently, we encourage trainers to provide both the online and classroom experience to participants.
