ITIL image ITIL Standards

During the 1980’s the Central Computer and Telecommunication Agency (CCTA) in the United Kingdom started working on what is now known as the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). Large companies and government agencies in Europe adopted the framework and it has since become a best practice for IT Service Management worldwide.

ITIL is copyright protected by the Office of Government Commerce – a department of the British Treasury, however, any organization can use the intellectual property to implement the processes and improve their performance. The framework is independent of any vendor.

ITIL certification is an individual process and not a company process. Training is provided by many companies around the world. More information can be found on the IT Service Management Forum.

All of Impact’s technical support suite programs support the principles and practices of the ITIL standards. However, Impact does not provide training on the ITIL framework.
