Do you have an online ver­sion of your program?

Most of our pro­grams are avail­able in class­room, online, and blended learn­ing for­mat. Stud­ies have shown that online com­mu­ni­ca­tions train­ing is most effec­tive when com­bined with inter­ac­tive class­room exer­cises where small groups can prac­tice skills, pro­vide mean­ing­ful con­text, and relay per­sonal expe­ri­ences related to the skills. Con­se­quently, we encour­age train­ers to pro­vide both the online and class­room expe­ri­ence to participants.

How are the courses delivered?

We offer three types of deliv­ery so that you can select a deliv­ery method that fits your needs and budget.

  1. Instructor-led. Cre­ate mean­ing­ful class­room inter­ac­tion by using one of our trainer-led pro­grams. Pur­chase a ready-to-use trainer’s man­ual, attend a Train-The-Trainer work­shop for addi­tional sup­port, or let one of our impact-certified train­ers deliver the train­ing at your location.
  2. Self-Paced Online. The self-paced deliv­ery allows the stu­dent to work at their own pace and on their own sched­ule. The student’s progress can be tracked via the Progress Man­age­ment Cen­ter and stu­dents go through a self-assessment test at the con­clu­sion of each mod­ule. The train­ing is easy to fol­low and full of exam­ples, exer­cises, and job aids.
  3. Blend of Class­room and Online. Take advan­tage of the effi­ciency of online learn­ing together with the effec­tive­ness of the class­room expe­ri­ence in this flex­i­ble and pow­er­ful pro­gram. The blended deliv­ery includes a com­plete suite of train­ing and rein­force­ment tools to ensure not only learn­ing, but real behav­ior change. Impact uses an advanced learn­ing process to inte­grate online knowl­edge trans­fer, instructor-led rein­force­ment, and post-training coach­ing to improve and sus­tain performance.

Do I have to go to Train-The-Trainer to be cer­ti­fied to deliver the program?

Yes and No. If you wish to be an Impact Cer­ti­fied Trainer, we require that you attend Train-The-Trainer, but we do not require that you be Impact cer­ti­fied in order to deliver the program.

If you are an expe­ri­enced trainer, you will be able to deliver an effec­tive pro­gram using our com­pre­hen­sive and easy-to-use mate­ri­als. How­ever, even expe­ri­enced train­ers gain a great deal of knowl­edge and expe­ri­ence by attend­ing Train-The-Trainer. At Train-The-Trainer you'll exam­ine the pro­gram with the help of experts and explore ways of adapt­ing the pro­gram to their company's spe­cific needs. Train-The-Trainer is a safe envi­ron­ment where you can hone your skills.

Train­ing

What if I only have five peo­ple who need to be trained?

Our pro­grams work best with groups from 5 to 20 peo­ple per class. Because the pro­grams can be admin­is­tered via self-pacing or trainer-led, they can be ideal for bring­ing a few new hires up to speed quickly. Rep­re­sen­ta­tives can work through the work­books on their own, then work with a men­tor or coach to review the learn­ing and put the skills into prac­tice on the job. Can we do the train­ing ourselves?

Yes. If you are an expe­ri­enced trainer you can deliver the train­ing using our com­pre­hen­sive and easy-to-use mate­ri­als. If you are not com­fort­able with the sub­ject mat­ter, we rec­om­mend you attend our Train-The-Trainer pro­gram or call on one of our Impact Cer­ti­fied Train­ers to come to your facil­ity and deliver the train­ing for you. What results can I expect?

The results you get depend on the oper­at­ing envi­ron­ment in your orga­ni­za­tion. There are, how­ever, sev­eral ele­ments that will help you reach your desired result:

  • Do a pre-assessment to deter­mine the spe­cific skills that need empha­sis. Give extra focus to prac­tic­ing and devel­op­ing those skills dur­ing training.
  • Make the pro­gram vis­i­ble and mean­ing­ful by get­ting man­age­ment sup­port from the beginning.
  • Pro­vide super­vi­sors and man­agers with the nec­es­sary skills to sup­port the rep­re­sen­ta­tives when they have com­pleted their for­mal train­ing. We rec­om­mend our coach­ing pro­gram, Mak­ing It Hap­pen™. The Mak­ing It Hap­pen™ pro­gram has been designed specif­i­cally for cus­tomer con­tact envi­ron­ments and our contact-center products.
  • After the for­mal train­ing, be patient, pos­i­tive, and sup­port­ive. Focus on one or two skills each week until they become a com­mu­ni­ca­tion habit for each representative.
  • Get involved and stay involved. Pro­vide coach­ing, coach­ing, and more coaching.
