Tip of the Week

Ever had your mind drift off while you’re in the middle a phone call with a prospect or customer? You're in the zone. And then — whoosh! Thoughts from all over the place invade your brain and you're distracted. You wouldn’t be the first person to ever do this. Because you can’t see the person you’re talking to, telephone communications require an extra dose of focus on your part. Here are three tips to help you:
1. Picture the person sitting across from you and imagine that you’re making eye contact.
2. Listen not only for key words, but also for key feelings.
3. Identify the communication style of the person.
You’ll be surprised how a little focus can help to cure a wandering mind!
